FACTS THAT CATHOLICS NEED TO KNOW:
The pro-life movement is losing the
war on abortion.
• Since the 1973 legislation of Roe vs. Wade,
more than 40 million abortions have been performed.
• Less than 2% of the missing 40 million were
aborted because of rape or incest, or because they posed
a threat to their mother's life.
• In the United States, abortions are legal up
to and including the 9th month.
• Among black women, 2 out of 3 pregnancies end
in abortion.
• New Jersey has the third highest teen abortion
rate in the country.
• Pilgrim Medical Center in Montclair performs
approximately 100 abortions a week.
• Partial birth abortions are not rare. Right
here in New Jersey, Metropolitan Medical Associates
in Englewood, performs this horrific procedure approximately
1500 times a year.
• Catholics continue to vote for pro-abortion
candidates - election after election.
• In '96, 59% of Catholic women voted for Bill
Clinton, while only 47% of Protestant women did so.
• NJ Catholics voted for Jim McGreevey, a `Catholic'
pro-abortion activist, 51%-47%.
• White Protestants supported Bret Schundler,
the pro-life candidate, 58%-38%.
• The black and Jewish voted overwhelmingly supported
Jim McGreevey.
• 13 women are United States Senators; one is
pro-life; 5 are Catholic; all 5 are pro-abortion.
• Only 50% of Catholics, nationwide, are registered
to vote, of that 50%, only 50% vote.
• After reading the above facts, is there any
wonder why we are losing the war on abortion?
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
I. If you are not registered to vote,
register and vote, If you are registered, vote.
II. This is an election year. Send a contribution to
a pro-life candidate. Running for public office is very
expensive. Rosary prayers alone will not ensure a victory.
III. Support a pro-life group. Without you help, they
can not compete with the government-backed abortion
empire.
